Freeview is the name of the UK's digital terrestrial television service, delivered to your home through an aerial. You do not need to subscribe to Freeview but you must have a TV licence.
Freeview is a joint venture between UK broadcasters, including BBC and ITV. You can receive it on a range of devices, including televisions, set top boxes and PVRs (personal video recorders).
Freeview television and radio services are broadcast around the UK using a number of multiplexes. Three multiplexes have the main UK channels, which include those from the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel Five, and are available to 98.5% of households in the UK.
