What is Freeview?
Freeview is a free-to-air broadcast service providing up to 30 digital
TV channels and over 20 digital radio stations, plus a range of
interactive services. The digital signals are sent from terrestrial
transmitters and received via a conventional roof-top aerial.

Can I receive Freeview?
It depends on where you live, but most areas in Eastbourne cannot
receive the Freeview signal. To check for reception in your area, text
your postcode to 83331, or visit the
Freeview website
for the latest information.
For Eastbourne residents, we recommend
Freesat from Sky in order to receive free-to-air
digital broadcasts and interactive services.
How much does Freeview cost?
You pay a one-off equipment cost, around £50, for a Freeview adapter that
allows your television to decode the digital signals. The adapter connects
to your existing aerial socket, or you can buy an integrated digital
television (iDTV) with the adapter already built in. There is no more to pay
and there is no contract to sign. Certain older roof-top aerials may require
upgrading to receive the Freeview signal.
